Java based AIML chatbot with interface designed on Figma

Java based AIML chatbot with interface designed on Figma. The purpose of the chatbot is to act as a guide for for new students to inform them about where key services are located. The chatbot can respond to user queries and guide them towards where they would find these relative to the student's location.
Student group project.
The goal of this body of work was to design an innovative chatbot that could provide users with information and recommendations about facilities and services available on the UCC campus.
The unique selling point of our bot is that unlike Google maps or the resources available online for UCC campus facilities, this bot will provide advice, recommendations and human-like insights on facilities on campus. The vision is that it would deliver such recommendations in the way that a helpful stranger would if you were to approach one with a question on the street.
Orientation day on campus can be overwhelming and key points of practical information which would be of future use but are not of immediate use can be overlooked and easily forgotten. This chatbot would be like a pocket guide for newcomers with all the key information and popular opinions about campus facilities.
When you ask it about a service/facility you want to reach the bot will inquire about your whereabouts and relative to that it will then tell you where the proximate service/facility and the key addition to this is that it will weigh in with its opinion of this particular service/ facility, or lend advice on where it believes a better alternative is available. For example, if the user wants to know where to get lunch in the vicinity of the Western Gateway Building, the chatbout would inform the user of the canteen on the ground floor of that building, but follow up with the opinion that the lunch options available in the canteen in the Brookfield Building closeby is in fact better.
Unlike apps like Yelp the chat bot is very specific and pragmatic with the feedback it delivers. Based specifically on the parameters of UCC campus, the final prototype is intended to be all-encompassing in regards to the information it gives about campus facilities and services. Furthermore, it is intended to give immediate, succinct and human-like responses to the pressing needs of users.
